Behind the scenes: The Tale of Thomas Burberry
Summary:Thomas Burberry previously found a fabric: gabardine, which could be convenient if worn by soldiers or other military uses. He then designed the trademark of the brand: trench coat. However, Burberry's popularity wouldn't be known worldwide if not for his equestrian knight logo founded in 1909. All in all, Thomas Burberry had surely made an impact on the fashion industry.
Vocabulary:
- Gabardine: a tough, tightly woven fabric, which is almost waterproofed that can make windbreakers, trousers, suits or other uniforms.
- Monogram: a symbol, usually formed from the first letters of a person's name joined together.(Initial)
- Inclement: a weather especially unpleasant with cold wind and rain.
The worldwide known brand has been established from nothing to the trademark that wouldn't be ignored. I have noticed that every designer design things to make our living world a better space. Owing to these people, we now have a more distinguished sense of fashion.
